Miss Gay Pigue in Charlotte, NC – K&W Customer Stories

family restaurant charlotte nc

For Miss Gay Pigue of Charlotte, NC, there is one thing that hasn’t changed for 27 years: eating at K&W every day.  On March 14, 1988 she decided to go to K&W for the first time. It was the recommendation of friends that first brought her to our door, but the cooking kept her coming back all these years.

She is convinced that her excellent health is because of the well-balanced diet she enjoys from K&W. She says her weight has stayed the same all these years, and she is still full of energy!

Employees at the Independence Blvd location in Charlotte, NC look forward to seeing her every single day. Affectionately calling her “Miss Gay,” line servers love chatting with her about the day’s entree selections (even though she memorized the whole menu). Other customers recognize her as a regular fixture at the restaurant, too, sharing that they always look to see if she is there.

Robert Hagar, Assistant Manager, said, “Sometimes she visits twice a day! She just loves it here.”

Although she sometimes brings her nieces and nephews with her, they aren’t always around. The employees and other customers have become like family, she explained, as she sees them every single day! Miss Gay loves coming to K&W to socialize with the people she knows, which is true for so many of our customers.

“I have been going for so long, the people at K&W have become my family.”
– Miss Gay Pigue

We may have to put Miss Gay on the payroll soon, with how much she does for K&W! She joked that her title should be “Good Will Ambassador,” as she is constantly on the lookout for opportunities to make other patrons’ dining experiences even happier.

The President of K&W, Dax Allred, expresses his gratitude by saying, “It’s loyal customers like Miss Gay that keep us going, here at K&W. It is very rewarding to know that our restaurants aren’t just a place to get great food, but a place to build relationships. We want our restaurants to feel like home, and Miss Gay is a big part of that.”

Thank you, Miss Gay, for making our K&W restaurant in Charlotte, NC so special!
