Friendly Center K&W Employee Wins Goodwill Award

Karla McSwain with K&W at Friendly Center in Greensboro has been awarded the “George E. Norman, Jr. Graduate of the Year” award by Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina.  The award stated the following:  “Since obtaining a fulfilling position at K&W Cafeteria a year and a half ago, Karla McSwain believes she has finally found her way.  As a resident of Siler City, Karla made the trek from her home to receive job training services including Keyboarding, Customer Service and Job Prep courses at the Greensboro Community Resource Center.  Her perseverance paid off when she secured a job opportunity with K&W Cafeteria.

Goodwill’s Senior Director of Operations and Quality Assurance, John Totty, beams “Karla was very proactive throughout her training and job search and has now reached her goal to gain employment.  Her future can only get brighter.”

Bobby Eaton, General Manager of K&W’s Signature Place at Friendly Center says “We are very pleased to have an employee with the attitude, persistence and follow-through that Karla has put forth.  Her future is bright, indeed.”
