K&W Sponsors NC MOM Dental Clinic with catering for all
Winston Salem, NC – The North Carolina Dental Association and The North Carolina Missions of Mercy teamed up to produce the Winston Salem Dental Clinic this year and it was the biggest success yet! Almost 1,000 patients showed up, seeking free services that would have otherwise been unavailable to them. In fact, a line of patients began to form almost 2 days before the doors opened! Volunteers from all over North Carolina donated their time and expertise to help these families.
“There is a lot of unmet need in Dentistry. The goal is to treat the people who cannot get care otherwise. It was an incredible turnout of people who were truly in need.” – Dr. Tony Porter
K&W worked closely with Dr. Tony Porter, owner of Lyndhurst Family Dentistry and organizer of this year’s event, to ensure that all patients and volunteers were fed. Made to order eggs, grits, sausage gravy, and tea were there to keep patients full and warm while they waited. Volunteers had delicious biscuit sandwiches for breakfast so they could quickly grab and go tend patients! For lunch, they had either baked spaghetti or chicken pan pie. K&W employees set their alarm for 2:00am each day to begin cooking so that everything was made from scratch and fresh! Tired as we were, we are all looking forward to next year’s event!
All members of K&W felt lucky to be a part of bringing comfort to struggling families. If you are having an event or party soon, and would like to know more about the catering options from K&W, see the K&W Catering page.
